Happy New Year

The year 2021, our founding year, is now almost over and we would therefore like to thank many great people who helped us to master the challenges of our start-up.

Special thanks go to AWS (Karl Biedermann), FFG, tech2b (Johanna Köhler, Birgit Wimmer-Wurm), Hubert Egger and Matthias Schmied (our mentors), MTC (Yasmin Striedner), Markus Wakolbinger (Wako3d), Ines Nechi (Helpsole) , Dagmar Doppler (KGG / UBG FTI Gründerfonds), Prof. Martin Kaltenbrunner (JKU), our wonderful team and Robert’s mom.

We wish you all a happy new year.

MTC Partner

We are very pleased to announce that we are now a member of the MTC  (Medical Technology Cluster).

The MedTech-Cluster of Business Upper Austria, the Upper Austrian Business Agency is the main interface between industry, science and medicine. In total, the MTC’s network consists of approx. 230 partners, whereby the MedTech-Cluster’s aim is to bring together relevant players from the MedTech-industry in order to do business together.

FFG General Programme funding

We are very happy to announce that we have been accepted into the FFG General Programme. Thanks to all for the great support!

The FFG is the central national funding organization and strengthens Austria’s innovative power (ffg.at).

In the advisory board meeting on October 20th the Austrian Research Promotion Agency (FFG) decided that the further development of the sendance grid, the revolutionary sensor technology from sendance, will be funded as part of the general programme. Sendance will have up to € 750,000 in funding available over a period of three years to develop soft, malleable, and permeable sensors for various applications in medical technology. A small part of the funding is used to finance a doctoral position at the LIT Soft Materials Lab at the JKU Linz, where research is carried out on novel materials for soft electronics. This is an important milestone for sendance on the way to becoming the leading provider of soft electronics in medical technology.

A solid foundation

We are now officially the sendance GmbH, a registered company based in Linz. Additionally, we found a new home in the Open Innovation Center on the JKU Campus. And we are about to hire our first two employees, Leon Kainz and Daniel Handstanger-Deimling, both skilled engineers helping us to get the first prototypes running.

This will give us a solid foundation to create great sensor solutions. Next big step will be the demonstration of the first sendance-grids in July!

We are ScalingUp!

sendance has been admitted to the MedTech branch of the Upper Austrian High-Tech incubator programme tech2b ScaleUp. This will give us a perfect framework to get our business going for the coming 1.5 years. We are looking forward to the great cooperation and being part of the wonderful start-up ecosystem of Linz!

Went for gold!

sendance has been awarded the Edison innovation prize in GOLD! This means that a high-class Jury was choosing sendance as the most promising technology start-up idea in Upper Austria. We were pleasantly surprised by this as the competition was really hard and also the other finalists would have deserved any prize! Thanks to all persons involved for this wonderful opportunity…
